Giulio Giannelli Viscardi made his debut in London as a concerto soloist at the Barbican Hall in 1987. The following year he recorded for Hyperion Records Pergolesi’s and Scarlatti’s Flute Concertos with the European Union Chamber Orchestra with whom he has been flute soloist since 1989. Future recording plans include concertos by Mozart, Vivaldi, Quantz and Stamitz. He has collaborated with chamber music groups such as the Endellion String Quartet, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Punto It and Überbrettl Ensemble and shared is passion for chamber music whit renowned artist such as Salvatore Accardo, Ruggero Allifranchini, Suren Bagratuni, Stephen Brotzman, Renaud Capuçon, Corey Cerovsek and many others. In 1993 he was second prizerwinner in the International Vienna Music Competition. Born in Rome in 1964, Viscardi began learning the flute at the age of seven, completing his Diploma at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan at the age of 16, under the guidance of Marlaena Kessick. He continued his studies in France and Switzerland with Christian Larde, Maxence Larrieu and Aurèle Nicolet, subsequently obtaining the Diploma of Honour at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena where he was taught for four years by Severino Gazzelloni.
